What kind of flour did you use? In China, there is a specific flour for siopao.

has anyone tried Chicken Charlie near the Banawe area? their method of frying chicken is interesting. crispy flavored coating, much like buffalo wings, but not exactly. the place is new but was surprised that many people came for take out boxes. the place can only accommodate 15 dine-in customers, max.

oh, and Serenitea makes the best milk tea! and their pepper goodies are wonderful too! addictive! =)

ThumbnailIf we’re to base our assessment on the profits posted by Hormel, maker of SPAM, despite continued stock market plunge in other industries, it does look like Americans buy more canned and processed food like SPAM when the prices of more natural foods soar. Sales of Smucker’s jams have soared too. Read the full article , with the [...]

ThumbnailWe’ve successfully baked pan de sal last Sunday but bread making still hasn’t become an everyday thing for us here at home. We still buy commercial bread. A couple of nights ago, Speedy came home with two bags of pan de sal — regular and malunggay pan de sal. Malunggay (Moringa oleifera) is, of course, this [...]

ThumbnailNo, “fasting” during the month of Ramadan is NOT the equivalent of starvation. The ritual consists of not consuming any food nor drink from sunrise to sunset . After sunset, the Muslims have their evening meal called the iftar which can be a full and healthy meal. For instance, in Bangladesh :

Some of the common iftar items from Bangladeshi cuisine include [...]

In Minnesota, seven people fell ill and their illness were linked to eggs produced by an Iowa company. The most important cooking tip of all: never be afraid.

    cinnamon-rolls

I baked cinnamon rolls today. I held my breath until they came out of the oven. And, after they did, they were lovely. And delicious.
